Christina Micula

Christina's father was a citizen of Poznan, Poland at the time of the blitzkrieg invasion of Hitler. When his brother was captured by the Nazis, my father decided to try and escape with a friend. He had recently contracted Polio and his escape through the Pyrenees mountains proved to be more than he could take. He was captured and placed in a prisoner of war camp. After the war ended, he emigrated to America and put himself through school and worked at the United Nations and for the cause of peace in New York until he retired. Christina is one of five children he leaves behind.
